wine friday: cupcake pinot grigio.

Oh happy day!

Sprouts had a sale on Cupcake Vineyards wines last week – just $6.99!  I couldn’t find my go-to white, their Sauvignon Blanc, so instead I grabbed their Pinot Grigio.  It turned out to be quite good, especially when paying the sale price (thank you Sprouts!).

“This Pinot Grigio is full with a nose that shows hints of pineapple, pears and sweet lemons. The body is full and gives way to a creamy mid-palate, integrating tropical fruits with the vibrant zing of citrus fruits. It is reminiscent of a pineapple upside down cupcake,” says the winemaker.

Enjoy with seafood and cream sauces, or by itself!

TOTAL:  Stock up if you find it on sale for about $7, otherwise Cupcake wines are typically $9-13.

I’ve only tried their Moscato and it wasn’t as sweet as I had hoped it would be. I’m up to try more from their line though… I’ll admit the word “cupcake” in it does help with its marketing lol!
