Cucina Urbana.

Talk about a Frugal Foodie’s dream restaurant.

Just.  Go.

Seriously.

Andrew and I make it a point to go to Cucina Urbana nearly every time we’re in San Diego.  It’s perfect if you’re looking to eat well like you mean it, on a budget.  I tell everyone it’s like if Anthro opened a restaurant.  Quirky.  Romantic.  Whimsical.  A Total Experience.

Let me explain the haps from our last visit:

1.  I am a fan of the restaurant on Facebook.  If you like them you can get extra deals, like the Saturday Happy Hour specials we enjoyed the night we went in.

2.  We ordered a fancy cocktail and beer (you’ll never guess who ordered which), homemade ricotta and beet salad, and the eggplant, goat cheese and pesto pizza.  The total before tip was $28.  Seriously.

So the moral of the story is, like them on Facebook, check them out especially at Happy Hour for great deals, and enjoy!

Happy Hour:  5-7pm everyday at the bar.  $5 well cocktails and sangria, $3 moretti drafts and even more speciales from 5-6pm!
