wine friday: tres pinos three pines cuvee.

Trader Joe’s has gotten smart.  They sell so much wine that wineries often make exclusive blends just for them, as is the case with this Red blend.

Tres Pinos is a blend of Syrah, Zinfandel, Cabernet and Merlot – with grapes grown in San Luis Obispo County.  Like a lot of other Trader Joe’s wines there is hardly any information available on the Three Pines Cuvee, and maker San Antonio Winery doesn’t even list the wine on their site.  But for $5, I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was.

For your consideration, Tres Pinos Three Pines Cuvee (Red Wine):

Their wine maker recommends pairing with a favorite pasta dish, risotto, grilled meats or flavorful cheeses. Try it with this sausage risotto or a prosciutto and caramelized onion pizza.

$4.99 at Trader Joe’s.

Give it a try and let me know what you think!  Or pop on over to Facebook and share some of your favorite wine friday moments or pics!

Happy Friday!

This easily the best $5 wine I have ever had! I mean, it’s terrible…at least until I can get to Trader Joe’s to stock up ;-)
